Bukit Jangkau 2012

A 2D1N camping trip at Janda Baik. We all made it. To a peak near Bukit Jangkau which is higher. The peak is without a name but appears on topo map as point 1280 (in metres).

Thanks to all who worked very hard on bushwhacking to open a trail for these two days, from the lead chopper till the endtrail cleaner.

Almost all of us had a close encounter with a wild boar. The medium-sized but with a mass of probably about 60kg came dashing out from nowhere far ahead in the vast, decommissioned farm, came up right to me about 10 feet away (it avoided the group in front) and darted off to the right 90° and disappeared into the thick. I was holding my parang high up just in case -- so no time to take out camera. Keng Heng was just behind me on the mobile phone! The beast appeared here: Photo no. 7

BTW, this was en route to Bukit Jangkau where no trail is present at that site.
